Introducing my development server

What to do with an old desktop pc? Until today, 2.00 Ghz P4 power stood in the last corner of my room and haven’t been used for ages (to be exactly: since I got my hp notebook).

Yesterday I decided to turn it into a development server. So it should run apache(2), mysql, php, and of course, rails. A subversion system would be also nice, including a webinterface and a bugtracking software. I decided to use Suse 9.3 Personal (just because I had a disc lying around in my room, I know, Personal is not the best decision) which has nearly all of the above mentioned software on board.

At the moment YaST is finishing the installation and I hope to get get all up and running till tomorrow. Then I can finally test my rails applications on a real server. :-)
