Hello to everyone for another episode of ‘Why I’m sometimes really frustrated’.

In internetworking and computer network engineering, Request for Comments (RFC) documents are a series of memoranda encompassing new research, innovations, and methodologies applicable to Internet technologies.

Through the Internet Society, engineers and computer scientists may publish discourse in the form of an RFC memorandum, either for peer review or simply to convey new concepts, information, or (occasionally) engineering humor. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) adopts some of the applied information theory published in RFCs as Internet standards.

Which means, for every serious programmer: Do it the way it’s written down in the corresponding RFC (RFC 2822 for date formats).

And now to the story (short, but, yeah): It’s not very RFC 2822ish when you are mixing English (day-names) with German (month-names) and if it’s not very professional when you are one of the biggest Austrian newspapers.

Addendum: Seems to be my lucky day. Please, go and find Figure 6, “the sample routing table”.

I know, I know, I’m a bad blogger. Keep posting regularly Phew, I’m not a pro-blogger, I have a day job *just kidding*. No, college is pretty time consuming at the moment and I really wanna pass all my exams because - I will go on an exchange semester to Sweden in August if everything works out. So keep your fingers crossed.

So, any other news here? Not at the moment, at least I couldn’t think of any.

I’m quite sure you know what it’s like working on a thing in a group (sometimes also called groupwork or teamwork). Most of the time this results in one person working and the other ones doing nothing.

Well, it is not that bad for me. At least there’s one person working. And another one who is copying text from the web, which, sadly but true, causes more work for me as if he would do nothing. Five spaces in a line instead of one tab, locked objects in Visio,…
The senctence “You’re going to do this part” doesn’t mean “You can copy that from there and I will overwork it later”. Because if that would be my intention I would do it myself.

You know what my dream is? Working for a small (I really mean small) or highly-creative company (Apple or even Microsoft). Why? Just because I think that most of the people there are motivated and aren’t working just for the money but also because their job makes them happy.

Sometimes I wanna hurt somebody, really, really badly. Especially software designers (those in Redmond). Don’t get me wrong, I’m normally not aggressive or anything but sometimes, sometimes I really want to take my notebook, close it softly and throw it out of the window (throwing single bytes is quite challenging so I’m sorry for HP for getting involved into this dirty thing).

You know, it’s okay when IE doesn’t like javascript code inside a div or a table. It is not nice, but it’s okay. But what’s definitely not okay is that for IE 180 pixels aren’t 180 pixels. And 400 pixels are not 400 pixels. And why is that? I don’t know. Go ask someone else. Maybe God knows the answer (but I’m not quite sure about that).
