I just wanted to register an .at domain and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the price: €72.00 for the first year. That would make about 10 (!!!) .com domains registered with Dreamhost.com. Can anybody tell me what justifies the price on nic.at?

Try internic.at: 30 euros per year for an at-domain. And to answer your question: certainly looks that way.

startnow.at dort liegen alle unsere .at Domains kosten 18€/Jahr und 18€ einmalig Setup.

HostEurope (a hosting company based in Cologne, Germany) sells .at domains for €1.50/month and €0.00 setup. They have a nice interface for DNS settings and stuff, I’m hosting a few domains there.
